Digital Survey Methods: KoBoToolbox & SurveyCTO

This four-day hands-on workshop equipped researchers, field coordinators, and development sector professionals with practical skills in professional digital data collection. Participants worked directly with both KoBoToolbox and SurveyCTO - the two most widely used digital survey platforms in international development research, humanitarian response, and monitoring & evaluation. Facilitated by The Research Wise survey methodology team, the workshop combined platform-specific instruction with practical form design exercises, quality control techniques, and a real-world field simulation. Participants completed the workshop with functional survey forms designed in both platforms, a working understanding of field deployment best practices, and a decision framework for choosing between KoBoToolbox and SurveyCTO based on project context. All participants received a certificate of completion.
