What Drives Us

Our Core Values

Intellectual Integrity and Scientific Temper

Our work is anchored in rigorous, evidence-based inquiry. We uphold methodological clarity, respect for data, and transparency in interpretation. By fostering a scientific temper in the study of population and social processes, we seek to build trust, credibility, and a culture of critical and responsible knowledge production.

Demography as a Public Good

We believe demographic knowledge should inform not only academic debates but also public reasoning and policy discourse. By making population data and research accessible, we contribute to a more informed society and to policymaking that is grounded in evidence and social reality.

Independence with Policy Relevance

We maintain intellectual independence while engaging deeply with real-world policy challenges. Our analyses are not driven by predetermined positions but by empirical evidence and demographic processes. This enables us to offer credible, constructive, and context-sensitive policy insights.

Dialogue, Collaboration, and Inclusion

Population questions require engagement across disciplines, institutions, and social locations. We create spaces for dialogue among scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and early-career researchers, and we actively work to widen participation in knowledge production. We value diverse perspectives as essential to meaningful and equitable policy thinking.

Long-Term and Future-Oriented Thinking

Demographic change unfolds over decades, and policy responses must be equally forward-looking. We prioritise long-term analysis, scenario building, and anticipatory thinking on issues such as ageing, migration, fertility transitions, labour markets, and social protection, enabling a deeper understanding of emerging social and economic transformations.

Publish With Us

Editorial Domains & Process

We publish original research, policy briefs, essays, and reports across Demography, Gender & Society, International Trade & Economy, and Public Health. Every submission goes through a structured editorial process: initial review by our editorial team, assignment to one or more peer reviewers, a documented review with clear feedback, and an editorial decision - accept, request revisions, or decline - before anything is published. Authors can track their submission and respond to reviewer feedback at every step.
